About

Emma England: RHS qualified Garden Designer

Emma has always loved spending time in nature and gardening. Her passion for plants and her love of art led her to pursue a career in garden design. Emma has worked in the field of conservation for many years where she restored and created habitat for wildlife. This led her to focus her garden design business on creating wildlife gardens and improving gardens for nature. Emma transformed her own large garden from not much more than a field into a haven for wildlife. She has participated in many citizen science projects monitoring birds, butterflies and bats. Her work on bird conservation won her award from the National Audubon Society.

Emma has a degree in Biology from the University of Sheffield. She trained at Reaseheath College where she qualified with a Royal Horticultural Society Diploma in the Principles and Practices of Horticulture. During her course Emma studied at Cholmondeley Castle Gardens. She also spent time working at a local garden centre.

Emma would like her garden design business to inspire people to help nature. Even a small number of pollinator-friendly plants can make a difference to our insects that are suffering declines in population. It is not just our insects that are in trouble. The State of Nature Report 2023 alarmingly indicated that 1 in 6 of our species of plants and animals in the UK are threatened with extinction including our beloved hedgehog. The UK is one of the most nature depleted countries in the world, but our gardens can make a big difference to wildlife. Spending time in a beautiful garden can also have great benefits to our health and well-being.

Emma likes to work closely with her clients to create a garden that is individual to them and that they will enjoy spending time in.
